Sacramento

Sacramento is California’s capital city and one of the most historically rich destinations in the state. Founded during the Gold Rush era, Sacramento played a crucial role in westward expansion and the development of California. One fun fact is that Old Sacramento still features preserved buildings and wooden sidewalks that transport visitors back to the 1800s. Sacramento is often called the “Farm-to-Fork Capital” due to its close proximity to thousands of farms supplying fresh produce year-round. The city sits at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers, offering extensive opportunities for boating, rafting, and fishing. Sacramento also has one of the largest urban tree canopies in the world, rivaling even Paris. With a growing arts scene, professional sports teams, and a diverse population, Sacramento blends government, culture, and outdoor living in a way few capitals can match.
