El Paso

El Paso sits at the far western tip of Texas and shares a border with Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, creating a rich bicultural environment. One fun fact is that El Paso is closer to the Pacific Ocean than it is to Houston. The city enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year, making outdoor activities popular year-round. El Paso is surrounded by mountains, including the Franklin Mountains, one of the largest urban mountain ranges in the country. The city has consistently ranked as one of the safest large cities in the U.S. Its food culture reflects strong Mexican and Southwestern influences. El Paso’s blend of cultures, landscapes, and history makes it one of Texas’s most distinctive cities.
